All Wales Basic Safeguarding Awareness Course

Safeguarding is about protecting children and adults from abuse or neglect and educating those around them to recognise the signs and danger.

This course is suitable for those new to safeguarding or who are looking to refresh their safeguarding knowledge, and is suitable for employees and volunteers in the independent, public or third sectors.

This training will help you:

  • Recognise the different types of harm
  • Recognise abuse and neglect
  • Understand how individuals can be protected

This programme reflects Welsh policy and practice and is based on the best learning programmes available.  It also aligns with the All Wales Induction Framework for Health and Social Care and provides a foundation of learning for people at the start of the social care career.

It is part of the Level 2 Award in Safeguarding Awareness (Wales) (QCF).  This allows organisations to choose to accredit the training.
